Shred Notes: 10/28/09

Hit Lucky Diving same whirl, and same clipper. Also got a better Lucky paradox whirl on tape.

Also got a nice Spinning Motion starting a nice string in tape. A bunch of spinning motions close up for review. Generally a great day!

  1. Stumbled across your blog looking up footbag records. Was watching your video thinking, I used to watch Gary do that at the park (Bidwell in Chico). Then your banner started to scroll by... small world. Might inspire me to dust off the bag.

  2. Glad to inspire. That is what all this is about. Sorry I missed your comment, I am new to blogging, but having much fun with it. Back in '85, when I saw Gary Lautt playing footbag, I was astonished by his accuracy and fluidity. I never thought I would reach that level, and in some ways I still haven't. It is hard to match that kind of expertise. I never forgot the way he made the footbag flow through his fingers while he kicked, and when I 'regurgitated' that trick integrated with advanced footbag freestyle moves, I initially named it the "Lautt", but that didn't catch on. So I had to change the name of the trick to "Threading", but I never miss an opportunity to thank Gary for his contribution to the sport. It is people like him, that inspired people like me to play. Keep it up! Thanks for your input!
